POPCORN CLUB (Theatre)

with Chris Lynam and Kate McKenzie

Directed by Andy Wilson & Tomas Kubinek

Musical direction Josie Lawrence

POPCORN CLUB presents a magical merging of variety, theatre and the
spontaneous interactive elements of the comedy club scene.
With a raw physicality, an exquisite grasp of the grotesque and seemingly
endless supply of explosive tricks, Chris Lynam feverishly subverts the
tradition of alternative comedy and shatters our cosy pre-conceptions with
his heightened theatricality and spontaneous modern clown.
In the Popcorn Club he meets his match in the guise of glamorous straight
woman, actress and diva, Kate McKenzie.
Together they take on the themes of love, romance and mysticism with songs, violent slapstick and pyrotechnics.

POPCORN CLUB introduces you to the passionate inner world of Eric The Fred and Estelle Etiole, two wildly contrasting characters struggling to achieve a sense of balance an effort that constantly disintegrates into
misunderstanding and chaos!

THE BEAST OF THEATRE

(street/solo show)
An experience that will stay in your mind for forty eight and a half minutes.

THE BEAST OF THEATRE

It is a show that dreams are made of, a dream that shows are made of, a fight between the birds and bees to prove that man is not man at all, but a little part of a little,tiny,baby,baby................thing!

Chris Lynam is renowned for many things, but mainly for bringing his brand of crazed humour to bear on unsuspecting audiences. His comedy is both dangerous and exciting, stretching variety to its limits.

Any one show may include pyrotechnics, acrobatics, outlandish operatic and orchestral overtures (alongside multi faceted diva, Kate McKenzie) a sousaphone with a mind of it's own and anything else which may spring to Mr Lynam's unnecessarily large and vivid imagination.

What happens when you wake up and find that you will never wake up again, that everything you make up is down, and everything you make down is up?

That piece of toast you had for breakfast is really a piece of beach in the Caribbean, your wife is a fruitcake and your children are raspberries.

In amongst all this confusion it becomes apparent that something very important is missing from the backbone of man's existence...., and in order to restore world peace (of cake) Professor Shputdonk must find the missing........
